Bolivar Community Chorus to host kick-off event Sept. 6

BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥� The 91吃瓜网 Department of Music will host a membership kick-off event for the Bolivar Community Chorus to be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6 in the Casebolt Music Center.

The Bolivar Community Chorus, a choral ensemble providing musical opportunities for adult singers throughout the region, has been combined with SBU鈥檚 Concert Choir to perform a wide range of music genres including classical, folk and ethnic, and popular music.

鈥淚 am very excited about the rebirth of this great choir,鈥� said Dr. James Tarrant, director of choral studies at SBU. 鈥淭he goals of the ensemble include being a large choir performing great and worthy music in a great and worthy way.鈥�

In addition to fall and spring concerts, the ensembles will participate in the annual Festival of Christmas concert in December.

After the kick-off event, rehearsals for the ensembles will be held at 7 p.m. on Mondays.
